Takadimi returns to the stage for an unforgettable night of Indian/Jazz fusion music, with special guest Shalu Garg on Sitar. The long-running dynamic ensemble, which blends the rich traditions of Indian classical music with contemporary jazz influences, delivering a unique auditory experience that captivates audiences.
Renowned for her expertise in Hindustani classical music, Auckland-based sitar sensation Shalu Garg has graced numerous concert stages, and during this performance, she will present an evocative rendition of the Takadimi Suite.
Takadimi features band-leader Manjit Singh on tabla and percussion with vocalist Daljeet Kaur, and a rhythm section of Michael Howell, Alan Brown and Olivier Holland.
Expect to be transported as the collective explores the intersections of these rich musical traditions, inviting you into a world where cultures converge in harmony.
