Peter Haynes, Salty (2012), Foam and fleece puppet

Inside Simon’s Head is an exhibition of puppetry and costumes from the upcoming short film ‘Coma’, created by local filmmaker Peter Haynes.

The exhibition features some of the cast of puppets from the film, created in a number of different styles and mediums, from foam and fleece to metal and plastic.

‘Coma’ is a short film centered on a young boy called Simon who is hit by a car when fleeing from a group of bullies that regularly torment him.  On ‘waking up’ he finds himself in a strange world populated by bizarre characters and begins a journey of discovery, flashing between the real world and his dream world.

The puppets and costumes have been constructed by various local creatives under the direction of writer, director and puppeteer Peter Haynes.

Join writer, director and puppeteer Peter Haynes on Saturday 18 April for a guided tour of the collection of puppets and costumes on display in the exhibition Inside Simon’s Head.
This exhibition talk will begin at 11.30am.
