Dunedin artist John Z Robinson has maintained parallel careers in jewellery, printmaking, painting and sculpture. In each of these disciplines he has evolved a separate signature identity. John Z. Robinson: Paintings presents this multi-talented artist in his guise as a painter. In this role Robinson is an exuberant colourist who rejoices in expressive brush strokes and bold splashes of pigment, equally at home with pure abstraction and representational subjects including portrait and figure studies.
