Investigations 101, Jill Kennedy

Investigations 101, Jill Kennedy
with drawing by Mark Braunias, sound design: John Payne

27 February – 7 June
AV Gallery

Investigations 101 takes inspiration from drawings by Mark Braunias – with animations by Jill Kennedy and sound design by John Payne. Drawing is a major part of Braunias’ practice. His drawings are likely to number in the many hundreds, showing his industry as a long-standing artist. This exhibition brings his drawings to ‘life’ as moving image, all animated by Jill Kennedy.  Kennedy has formed a long-standing collaboration with Braunias producing several works since 2007. Movement of line and shape is further enhanced by John Payne’s sound design. The drawings are transformed to wondrous effect – rhythmic beats, humour, the actual and imaginary.
