Good Shapes: Mapura Studios
November 7, 2016 - January 15, 2017
Little Gallery
Somewhere between the known and the unknown, the seen and the unseen, there can be an understanding of form that can only be expressed emotionally.
Māpura Studios is pleased to submit five artists that have extreme emotional intelligence heightened by their own creative thinking.
For substance to take form visually it generally takes on a shape, however vague, it conjures up an image.
These artists have the ability to discern and add meaning to various shapes, particularly the understanding to conceive “Good Shapes”. The viewer is challenged to engage both visually and emotionally with what it takes to define a good shape demonstrated in these works by Matthew Allerby, Russell Julian, Christina van der Hooft, Matthew Tucker, and Halina Janiszewska.
