This exhibition of recent acquisitions to the Arts Trust Collection celebrates the work of several mid-career and emerging contemporary New Zealand Photographers. It features works by renowned photographer Peter Panyoczki, including Still Life, which examines the substance of the physical world at a seemingly microscopic level. Other works include unnerving staged photography by artists Andrea Gardner (Romantic Ecological Issue) and Layla Rudneva-Mackay (Blue), and a curious photo-collage (The Making of Alien Agent 2011) by Jacqueline Fraser. Also exhibited is young emerging artist James Lowe’s The ‘ee’ in the Honest World, a powerful piece that reflects the artist’s interest in existentialism.
